The XC90 proved to be a hit with the buying public from the moment it was released world wide. It won Car of the year accolades together with design awards for its ingenious 7 seater versions, which all folded away to provide a flat floor the booted area. Its now on its face lifted version from 2011, and about to be replaced in the short term with an entirely new model. The current model sells very well +new and used, and has a greater number of models available from the basic ES, the SE, SE LUX, Executive and R-Design versions. The only available engine-transmission available is the 200 bhp D5 Turbo Diesel, along with the 6 spd
AWD geartronic gearbox. The standard of equipment levels throughout the range is impressive, and the most popular of the 'Classic versions' is probably the SE offering leather seating, dual climate ECC air conditioning, cruise control, multi air bags, etc. Coupled with Volvos legendary safety equipment and reliability, its understandable why these vehicles have a good following, and don't remain around on the used market for long. They all have AWD which diverts traction to the rear wheels in the event of the onboard computers registering any slippery conditions. Whilst not a full blown off roader, they are able to cope quite well with reasonable off road conditions, making them highly versatile in their use.

Having gone through a mid life facelift in 2009, the level of equipment, especially on the executive version which come with full heated, electrical operation, memory, ventilation and massage front seating, these vehicles are able to cosset their drivers and passengers alike over lengthy distances with comfort and reliability.

The latest XC90 - (Header top) is due in March 2015.
